The Wedding Part 1

…the day that I’ve been waiting for. To be united as one with my love.

Who would’ve thought that we could get married one day?... and here we are after all those years, united as one, always and forever...

There were mixed feelings that morning, the wedding jitters. It hit me around an hour before the akad nikah. I can’t sit still and keep wondering what time we’ll be leaving the house. That heartbeat was insane; it kept getting worse once we step out of the house.
The moment I stepped out of the car and enter the mosque, I told myself, this is it. This is what you’ve been waiting for. Bismillah.

The usual routine kicks in when we meet our relatives, salam here and there, take photos and everybody was excited!

I’ve told my parents that I wanted to sit on the ground, the same level as my husband during the nikah; they agreed. And so, there’s always somebody in the family that will boss you around and die die wants you to listen to them. And yeah, it happened to me. Not my own relative but his. So his aunt told me to sit on the chair and I said politely that I want to sit on the ground. She keeps insisting me to sit on the chair. Like hello, aku nak kahwin ke kau? Like who’s gonna listen to you when you’re just a nobody to me right? So I just went on and sit on the ground and not bother about her. Ha ha. You don’t own me makcik.

And then, the kadi came… oh……my heartbeat keeps going dap dup dap dup very fast like a race car.

I knew that my father would give me away / nikahkan, so I’m mentally prepared (not so much on the emotional part though). The moment I heard my father’s voice saying, “Aku nikahkan kau bersama anak kandungku…” tears flowing down like a river. I can’t control myself. Nasib bridesmaid kat sebelah boleh tolong lap lap kan. Emo habis ok.

Then after all that jazz, it’s time to sign the documents. Just imagine eh, nak sign pun boleh nangis tau. Wth fiqah, asal emo sangat ni. Hahahah

It feels so surreal, being married. Alhamdullilah, the nikah went well.

We had a mini photo taking session and everyone head to SPGG for the reception and lunch. Stay tune for the next part...

27

T W E N T Y - S EVEN  more days guyssss.... O-M-G

Can you believe it that it's only 27 days away till I'm someone's wife. I don't think I can ever get used to be called that. hahaha, opps, sorry fiancé.

It's been a hectic few months/weeks/days. When did I last blog? hmmm, somewhere in October, wait I check....... yep. October, 90 days away, that's like 64 days gone! Cepat pe!

So, fiancé and I have decided not to meet for the last 26 days (should have been 30 but oh wells). Pantang larang lah kononnye tapi yang ni kita sendiri yang buat. Short and simple. No meet ups. So we will miss each other more. Actually kan, dah biasa pun tau tak jumpa die. Remember when he left" me for 3 months? tu lagi teruk beb. Dapat whatsapp/whatsapp call/Skype call and the calls sometimes annoying nak mati coz connection lembab. so that one lagi teruk than this 26 days.

Most of the things is settled, just a few more things that I keep on procrastinate. you know, I rather watch my youtube videos than doing and thinking about wedding. hahaha. really. actually I keep seeing UK youtuber hauls so I know what to buy when I'm there! heh heh. Honeymoon lagi exciting dari wedding seh. kan kan kan.

Gift Trays - finishing up the paintings and finally visualize the whole concept I've been keeping in the back of my mind.

Wedding Cake - I think this is the most nerve-wrecking task. as you all know, I'm baking my own wedding cake. It's exciting but at the same time I keep worrying it will not turn out that well. I better have lower expectations of my own capability, no?

Box for Duit Salam - I know I can just grab A3 boxes at work and just wrap it with wrapping paper, but I choose not to coz mcm tkde standard. hahaha. Box pun kena ada standard eh? YA. I merepek like that. I have something in mind already. We shall see.

Bunga Rampai Holder - His side = done. He very senang coz he not leceh like me. Once again, I tk suka typical melayu kind of bunga rampai holders, so I cari sendiri what I want.

Itinerary - Done, left with few more touching up and ready to sent to vendors.

Candy Corner - Status : Pending

Photobooth - I have yet to check out the place again (ugh, I am hopeless). Need to check again where is the place so I could plan the whole photobooth area.

Bridesmaids - I have THREE! Planning of meeting the three of them soonest to discuss the details and I'm thinking of doing a thank you box for them; basic essentials for that day and some snacks! Maybe I should do something similar for the bestmans too.

Room - Clearing up bit by bit and it's getting there! Also, I can't believe the amount of clothes that we threw away (ok, donated). seriously like a lot. And most of the jeans I can't fit anymore! I just bought them last year and I'm the kind of person who can wear the jeans for years. so this just proves another point. I really did gain. Don't even mention the belly fat. nauzubilllahminzalik. memang dah confirm plus chop kena pakai corset. buruk kan, orang kurus tapi perut boncit. hahahahahaha.....

I seriously can't believe it that is only a matter of days till a change of status. I keep thinking to myself, what kind of a wife will I be? Am I going to be the same Fiqah or a changed Fiqah. I never know. Time will pass and I guess people change as it pass by. I might be a better version of the old Fiqah (Insyallah, ameen).

I keep thinking to myself how will I be at someone else's house? How will I survive in a different household? It's never the same. One thing for sure, I will miss my nenek and atuk more than ever. I lived with them my whole life and to think that I will be seeing them every once a week... it's kinda heart-breaking.

but hey, a new life = a new chapter right? Insyallah I will be fine, Insyallah.

90

Doubts = cleared

I've been ranting on how bad I want to meet my vendor for both catering and décor the other day. Well fret not, I've already met him and had my doubts and questions cleared! We decided to meet at the venue itself and brought along our parents with us. It was a great discussion, coz the parents were able to clear their questions as well and were happy with the location, food and the drafted floor plan. Remember the other time when I was asked to do the sirih dara/junjung and bunga pahar, after the meet up sesh, mom said that I don't have to do it! Yay! Thanks to Uncle Lan  (my vendor for both food n décor) for saying that it is all adat, and even if we wanna have them, it has to match the décor if not, it will ruin the whole look (which I totally agree). so yay for not having them for my dulangs! not a necessary item, so why put so much pressure on it right?

Can you believe that it's already a two digit countdown? I can't, I definitely can't. exactly 90 more days and I'm very sure I still have a few other things that is not done. Been procrastinating for quite some time now and I really have to get down on it soon.

Kain is already sent to the tailor's, so one item is checked off the dulang list. Since my fiancé is going to Saudi next week and have a few days to spare before he gets his work pass, I told him to look for any nice sejadah and Al-Quran for our dulang. Mana lah tau ada yang cantik-cantik punya kat sana kan.

Talking about dulang, I've yet to print the placecards. I've already did some designs and still sourcing where to print it.

Oh, the bunga rampai too! I've yet to buy the holder for it!

Let's side track a lil bit; here's me and the Mr at ROMM the other day. We've already "passed" the interview and currently can't wait to get married yo! hahaha!

Wanna know something?
.
.
.
We've yet to buy our wedding rings. :x

Wanna know something else?
.
.
.
I don't want to start packing my clothes/things to move to his house, not even when the date is nearing. The nearer the date is, the more I don't want to. The thought of me staying there already instantly kills me inside. What if I just can't adjust with the living environment there? What if I keep comparing the living lifestyle with my own home till I can't take it and go crazy? Why do people think that it will be alright to stay with your in-laws? They kept saying things like "ala, sekejap je tinggal setahun kat sana" "bukan lama pun satu tahun". Like hello, yang tinggal tu aku ke kau seh. Cakap memang senang but not you who go through it. And before you can say why don't rent a house instead, I would definitely love to, but after calculating the budget, we decided not to coz we still have to save up for our upcoming house. Things are not cheap nowadays, honey. I wish I could rant out more here, but just to be safe, I better not. You never know who will read this blog, and if they see I'm bitchin' bout them, I am definitely not safe.

Somehow I feel that one day I will blog about : How to live with your in-laws. :x

Do you what is sad? Going for a fitting without your fiancé. why do you have to overseas when I need you most?

Clarifications

so, on my previous post, I've said that I was stressed out about my Bridal coz I haven't been seeing updates from their social media sites. And I failed to mentioned that things have changed since that post.

I just want and have to clarify something which hopefully benefit both me and the bridal. I don't want BTBs or anyone to think the wrong way just because they misinterpreted what I post previously.

So... I've just received a call from my Bridal and she was updating me on her new bridal outfits and telling me that some of her customers came to her after reading my blog, some even booked her as their bridal (which is a good thing, Alhamdulillah). Well, the bad thing is this... someone mentioned to her that I said on my blog that the Bridal I booked cheated my money. That is obviously so not true. N to the O, NO. They never cheat my money and what I said was purely a saying out of my stressful state of mind.

"It is not that I’m saying they’re cheating out of our money (hopefully not)" >> this is what I posted. Maybe some misinterpreted it, but it is just not right. You've got to check around first before saying anything to anyone. You can even ask me personally with what is going on.

I should have listened to my fiancé who have been telling me to yakin in whatever you do or decide, and to always think positively. He always believed in the vendors we chose. If I had listened, this wouldn't had happen right?

But Alhamdulillah, everything is fine. I feel so so terrible after hearing this and I never wish this to happen even. Honestly I never expect anyone to read this blog because, I've been seeing my own view section or whatever it is called and it was ZERO most of the time. Mehhh....

I apologise for the misunderstandings. And I sincerely apologise to my bridal for the negativity thoughts people had towards them.

SO PLEASE PEOPLE.... DONT MISINTERPRET ANYTHING OK???

The power of social media... haisssssss.....

Stressed out?

And it’s been months since I last blogged. Oh well, lazy girl is a lazy girl after all. New Year only means that I have exactly a year to prepare. A FREAKING ONE YEAR TO MY WEDDING! How exciting is that? Not. But seriously, a year? Well, now it’s already less than a year coz January is ending soon.

Secured – Deposit done
  • Bridal + Photography
  • Venue + Deco + Catering
  • DJ
  • Kompang

So far most of the major vendors are secured. But I’m still stressing out on the berkats. My initial idea was Honey but it was over our budget and changed to Jams instead. Then again, the Jams might be too small and you know how guests normally are. “eh, keciknye berkat die” seriously if I ever hear that kind of comment, nak kena mintak sepak aje. Like hello, it is suppose to be a berkat and just take it lah. Kan? My parents thought it was too small *smacks forehead* and if I were to increase the qty to 2 it will definitely out of our budget. And so I stuck till then. My uncle suggested a pocket sejadah, good idea but can’t find it through the all-amazing google, which means gotta travel down to JB. Also, we both decided to give out the same berkats so that when purchased in bigger quantities, the price will be slightly cheaper. Even a hundred mean ALOT now.

The next thing up on my stress list is Videography. This has got us arguing all the time whenever I bring it up. The main reason for having a video taken on our wedding day is to capture the moment. Yes true, photos are able to capture moments but not like the videos. I wanna see how we both look on that day, how I reacted or how nervous or calm during akad nikah. So what about chucking it one side after watching it once. There will be times when you feel down and you just wanna watch it again or when you’re fighting with each other and it could be a reminder how we both got together. Right? He is still against it coz of budget (as usual) but I will not give up. I even enquired my cousin (who does photography and videography full time I think). Hopefully he gets back to me asap so I could book him. Heh heh. I don’t mind forking out my own cash (not the wedding savings) to have a video. I am that determined.

And the last thing (for now) on my stress list is Bridal. I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before but the bridal I booked is not the well known bridal as we all know. It was a risk but I did it. It is not that I’m saing they’re cheating out of our money (hopefully not). It’s just that I don’t see any updated on their social media – Facebook, Instagram and Website. It just got me worried but I wanna hope for the best and I really hope they’re not like the other vendors who leave their client behind. Insyaallah it will be fine.

Changes again.... & two vendors secured

And so, we shifted the date again. Hahahah! #foreverchanging #indecisive ok ok, This time it's for real and it's our last and final decision. Our wedding will be in early 2016! Not going to tell the date yet coz I wanna keep it a secret. Hehe. Fyi, I already thought of a Instagram hashtag. hahah #kiasubtb

We changed our venue too and that means no Gurame wedding. Boohoo. It is sad that I can't get my dream venue but sometimes you just gotta let it go. First and foremost is because of our budget and we don't want to exceed our planned budget too much. We both then decided to have our wedding in CC (well for now, but I think it is confirmed). Mainly because it can accommodate a lot of pax and we choose to have it in between Woodlands and Clementi. Fair for both sides coz it's not near of both places. you know, to avoid the misunderstandings and such.

Since Mr. Fiance is back from outstation, we have to use this very precious time to discuss as much as possible on our wedding stuffs. From arranging appointments, looking at possible vendors, asking for quotations and whatnot.

So far we have been to a few bridal appointments and I'm happy to say that we have secured two vendors for our wedding! Alhamdulillah. It is a package of both bridal and photography services.

We have chosen LA ROSA - The Bridal Room for our Andaman and Photography.

They are a sweet happy couple who caters andaman services as well as photography (which is managed by the husband). From the first appointment, I can say that we (my Fiance and I) clicked with them. We can talk and there are no weird awkward moments with them. Very friendly and energetic pair. The part that interests me the most is that I get to customize my own Nikah outfit and keep it! (with no extra costs) Not to forget, the photos are also nice!

How I found out about La Rosa (just sharing, don't have to read if not interested) is from my Instagram feed. I was scrolling down the pics from Project Pixel and saw a beautiful beautiful outfit of the couple. So I decided to investigate on my own (instagram stalking for sure) and found La Rosa.

You can check them out at their facebook page : La Rosa - The Bridal Room or here for more photos on their website.

I'm tired and I have to get back to my Cinnamon rolls that is waiting to be baked. Will blog again soon! Ciao!

Silent Chaos

Chaos; that is how my brain is right now, last week, and weeks before.

My Fiancé and I decided to push our date forward to late 2015. And there are zero bookings are made as of now. I only went to one bridal appointment yesterday and panicked after that. The wedding is just next year and not a single vendor is booked.

One of the hardest things is deciding which vendor and fixing appointments. My fiancé is currently outstation and it is hard to communicate with him regarding all this. I know that now there is technology with Whatsapp, Skype, yada yada yada. But with poor internet service at his side, you tell me how. On top of that, I’m the kind of person who prefers to discuss face-to-face. I feel so puas. You know what I mean. I get to express every thoughts and feelings without figuring how he is going to understand whatever situation we’re in. It’s just better to discuss face-to-face. If tak happy, angkat kaki jalan. No need to hang up (gosh, I hate that so damn much).

Ok, so… We have decided to do a combine event and invite a total of 600 pax. So that means, 300 his side and 300 mine. We have both talked to our parents, and I talked to my grandparents and all of them agree. The venue we’re looking at is at Gurame. My dream wedding venue... Something about that beautiful landscape just blew me away. Tell me, who doesn’t love the gorgeous scenery of the sky and the endless sea. Gurame offers a package of, Venue + Catering + Décor. And there is also transport for the guests from Tanah Merah Int to the venue. A plus! This means that I will save time on searching for Catering and Décor. Less vendors equals to less headaches.

As for Bridal, I’m thinking of engaging Kahwin Kawin Bridal. They have a package with photography at a good price. Also, when I met her yesterday, she seems nice and friendly. She showcase her outfits and they were so gorgeous. The feel of the baju is just what I secretly love. I love the bohemian,  vintage kinda stuffs and she got it. Her slots are also limited and I’m really hoping I could get her as my bridal.

Right now, I’m waiting for my fiancé to be back (next next week) and go for appointment at Gurame. If I can get the date I want (insyallah, ameen ameen ameen), I will straight away book KKB as my bridal. Ya Allah, please give us your blessings.

And there are still a lot of stuffs to be done (assuming the above mentioned is booked).

- Wedding Cards (50% by Gurame – I still don’t get this part)
- Videography
- Kompang
- Deejay
- Henna
- Wedding Cake (alr set my mind on MadBatterSG coz my engagement cake is just too awesome)
- Sirih Dara
- Bunga Rampai
- Gift Trays (thinking of DIY)
- Gift Items
- Tailor made baju for parents/grandparents/siblings (have to cari kain)

As of Today...

Andaman have been narrowed down to 3; ISHQ by Nora Zee, PETI SOLEK the Bridal Room & THE WEDDING BROCADE. Only these 3 caught my heart and I tried looking at others but I was just not into them. As for now I’m only left with ISHQ for the quotation. Asked Mr. Fiancé to look at these 3 and he approves! YAY for that!

So I guess, for Andaman wise (the narrowing down part) kirakan dah settle ah. Get quotation from ISHQ then compare then book for appointment. (gua tak sabar part ni, nak tengok baju-baju dorang yang lawa) The photos they posted in IG were already killing me. The baju semua so gorgeous nak mati. Makeup so flawless. Ahhh… dah jatuh cinta, confirm plus chop ni.

photos belongs to the respective IG owners.

please take a look at them brows by Nora Zee... ahhhh lawa gilaaaa...

Next is the Decor. Narrowed down for this also (listed not according to preference);

- Comel Molek
- Daun Dco
- Elly Weddings (take note: no void deck bookings, might apply to me if I choose void deck. Sedih...)
- Jentayu Gallery
- RH Bridal & Studio
- The Wedding Chateau
- Wedding Meets Design

Now a problem rises. I have yet to decide where to hold my wedding at. The obvious and first choice was oh-so-common void deck. I thought of community centers but I would prefer if they have an air conditioned hall. CC rent is not cheap and if they have no air con equals to a No. Then I glanced upon Gurame Indonesia Restaurant. The plus point was the scenery, all-in-one package but there were some of the things that made me think more than twice. I still love Gurame and if to dismiss all the disadvantages, I would have definitely chosen that.

Also, another reason why I still have not made my choice is because I over think too much. I don’t want to hold my wedding at void deck because I can foresee the situation but I will not state it here (personal stuffs). Void deck is for sure very convenient, naik atas boleh ambil barang kalau lupa/ tak cukup, naik atas je dah boleh tukar baju.

I’m still stuck in making the decision for the Venue. I thought it would be easy but with me over thinking about all the consequences/ advantages/ disadvantages and semua yang seerti dengannya.

I guess after all these I will still be left with two options. Void deck or CC.

Next, I gotta look at Catering. Looking at the calendar makes me nervous. I’m scared if I don’t book everything on time and what if there is no slot. Okay. I have got to chill. Phew.

Next-to-do-List

- List down the 2 major vendors
o   Catering
o   Photography / Videography

- Book an appointment when Mr. Fiancé is back from overseas work
o   Andaman
o   Décor

The most upsetting thing is when you’re not able to make decisions together with your partner when they are working overseas. I know that I’m the one who keep on insisting him to go coz I know that is what he wants but deep down inside, it is killing me. 18 days down, 72 more to go. Actually I don’t really mind but when there are things or situations that you want to talk or mengadu to, he is there but so many miles away. Phone call/ Skype/ Whatsapp are not a problem but nothing beats a live face-to-face conversation. I miss those.

And when this happen I regret the days when I scold or nag at him for oblivious reasons. Haha. Nasi sudah jadi bubur dik… eh bubur masih bileh keringkan pe. Oh. Tak eh? Hahaha.

I will always pray for your safety, everywhere you go, wherever you are. May Allah s.w.t. protect and bless you always.

So please… eat whatever you can there... FOR ME coz I’m here being so over the top jealous. He’s at Abu Dhabi and he goes to Dubai on every Friday and there are foods so damn good looking and he eats it without me. NOOOOooooo…. I’m usually the one who finish up his food but who’s going to do that now? Hahaha…

I better get back to work.

Ciao.

Updates and Rants

It’s been awhile since I last blogged. The last I blogged was selecting the flat. Now it’s time for wedding preparations part 1: Quotations and Surveys.

So. Mainly, we've decided on the date and venue. We both are going to do a separate 2 day event. 1st day will be the solemnization day, 2nd will be the wedding ceremony. Initially I wanted to do a combined event but he insist that we should separate.  I don’t even want to bother putting down the reasons. It has always been the typical oh-so-melayu reason. Sometimes I just don’t get it, yang kahwin ni siapa? Kita ke parents kita? Kan?

I’ve been searching for vendors and Farhana from KahwinKhronicles really give a good list of vendors in Singapore. From the bridal to catering to deco to kompang. Ala...Kirakan satu package ah dia kasi kau. She also provide the wedding budget templates. I'm thankful to have bloggers like this.

I’m the kind of person who don’t like to chin chai chin chai decide on things, especially on my wedding. Budget pun budget lah, but if dah tak lawa, siapa nak kan? I've been asking for quotations here and there. Some of it are reasonable and right there, but some (especially the ones I really really like) mencekikkan orang aje.

I asked my colleague (BTB this Dec) what was her quotation last year for this particular vendor (deco) and she told me that last year was way cheaper. This year they really marked up the price. If ikutkan hati, I would signed up for it. But… I just can’t. Moving on I asked the other deco that I liked (for quite some time already, Elly Weddings). The price was within my budget but…. They NO LONGER TAKE VOID DECK BOOKINGS! Ahhhhh tidakkkkkk!!! I dah fall in love with the deco, but why? Why? Why you tak ambil void deck booking lagi? Sedih... Nak nangis… I've made my decision with void deck for my wedding coz 1: cheaper 2: easier to go up and change outfit.

(Speaking of which, I really need to do something about the room. Change bed, change wardrobe, all change. hahah... that shall be the later topic. This one confirm kena bising pasal nak tukar semua. hahaha...)

Haiss... cubaan cubaan. Now I gotta look for the ones that fit into my budget and taste. You see, I’m the kind of person that once I like something, I will ignore the other things. Now I gotta let go of this attitude and look further. Mana tau, ade lagi better offer that caters to what I like right?
The Dreamers Soiree, a wedding event that I’ve RSVP-ed to and it looks like I couldn’t make it. When it is opened for RSVP, aku punya semangat… cepat-cepat log in and send email. But now, since my other half is away to U.A.E. for work, we couldn't make it for the event. Sedih ok. Looks like Fluff is off my list for wedding cake.

Oh, oh! I have a backup plan for my wedding cake, MadBatterSG! Sungguh tak sabar ku nak order coz her cakes sedap gila nak mati! I still am remembering my engagement cake, the oh-so-moist blueberry cake with cream cheese and maple frosting. Mmhhhmmmm… sedapppppp…

my engagement cake! (photo : from MadBatter SG )

Note to Mr. Fiancé:
1 - I want this cake for 1 year engagement.
2- You shall not take my baker for the wedding cake. You go and search for others okay. Hehehe…

And it was booked!

So, last Wednesday, Mr. Fiance & I went to HDB to select our BTO flat!

I was so excited that I can't even concentrate on my work. (I took half day leave since the appointment was at 2.45 pm) But then along the way I fall asleep coz the journey was just too long. Itulah,  excited sangat sampai ngantuk. Just imagine going to Toa Payoh from Joo Koon, jauhnye mintak ampun

We reached 20 mins earlier and took our queue no. Then we patiently waited and staring at the display board, praying and hoping that no one takes our chosen unit. Hahaha.... we are ridiculous like that. Actually, mostly me. Ding Dong. our QUEUE NO. Like a small kid, I was shrieking and go "Eh, kita punya number lah! Kita punya! ohmygosh ohmygosh, tak sabarnya".

As expected, the whole process was short. not really short but short. Maximum around 20-30 mins. Alhamdullilah, we got the block and unit we wanted. $2000 pun melayang macam gitu aje. Rumah punya pasal.... semua pun sanggup. Now we just have to wait for the letter for our next appointment to pay our down payment.

This part here is crucial. If your AHG is approved, and have sufficient CPF, you should not need to top up CASH. If you calculated and have to top up CASH, get ready your money by then. It will be around 3-4 months after the flat selection.

Just to share:

Few things to note before going for the flat selection.

1) Have your application form filled and signed by both parties.

2) See if you are eligible for AHG (Additional Housing Grant). If you are, print out the form and fill up.

3) Bring and photocopy all the required documents (we both forget to print out our yearly CPF transcation, lucky for us, the lady let us print ours from her computer. Fail to bring certain documents, you have to go down to HDB again to submit.)

4) Plan which block / unit you prefer and have other options for backup. (Have to decide on that day.)

5) The booking fee (Cash / NETS)

I guess that should be it. Also, in the letter given they will state all the documents that you have to bring along with brochures of the flat that you chose.

Let's wait for the next appointment!

Tiny little diamonds on my finger

yup, I'm ENGAGED!

It was a lovely ceremony and all went well, Alhamdullilah. I thank Allah for his blessings and for all that had happen. Insyallah, Mr. Fiancé and I will get married in 2 years time. Amin.

I have to admit there were some hiccups along the way. Especially on the night before and also on the morning itself. It was totally my fault. I have no else to blame but myself. Sometimes I get too caught up with whats happening and when I lose control, I freak and I start to find fault with whoever and whatever that just gets in my way. such a bitch right.

The first hiccup was the cake. Initially it was dark choc glaze to coat the cake but dad insisted that I used white chocolate instead so that the fruits I was going to put on, shows and more visible. I agreed and it turns out to be a disaster. Firstly, the glaze was see through, that already pisses me off. Secondly, it just won't set! You bet I was super annoyed. I had to think of another way to cover up the sides as it was showing through the glaze. I walked around Sheng Siong to find something and I found the pocky sticks! I'm so glad that Sheng Siong is 24/7, if not I will be so dead. I don't have enough chocolate on hand either. Pocky sticks saves me. It turned out nice too!

The second hiccup was between me and him. I know it's going to sound ridiculous, but I was being super ridiculous at that moment. His parents don't allow him to come to my house when they finished the whole ceremony. I was super pissed. You know, I was hoping and wishing that he would come and see me and bring me some flowers and take an engagement photo. I really wanted that but it was crushed the moment he said he can't. I started arguing that it was our day and they should respect our decision. I even blasted my anger to my family unknowingly. They say that this is the ADAT and according to that he should not come. Like seriously, wth kan. This is like 2014 already, like hello?! But who am I to have a say in this, right? I had to just deal with it, like it or not.

I dealed with it. It sucks though. I wanted one thing and just one thing only. A photo of us, engaged, so I could keep for memories sake. Well, just not my day.

Besides the hiccups that mainly caused by me, the rest went well. The night before, my family, grandaunties & uncles, aunties & uncles helped out by gotong-royong-ing. We cooked our own food and gosh, it was tiring. I didn't do any of the work but by looking at it, I just can't take all the leceh-ness and the penat-ness. Hahah! It dragged on to the next morning coz they have to cook the lauk-lauk. The smell is just so sedap! which I get to eat in the evening after everyone went home.

This should be it. I wanna head back to bed. but before that....

I want to thank Allah for his blessings in making this ceremony a smooth and a happy one. I want to thank my family (mak, atuk, ibu, ayah and siblings) for the endless efforts they contributed. I want to thank my aunties and uncles for helping out. Also my grandaunts and granduncles for their contribution of "energy" despited their old age. I want to thank Bernard for dolling me up like an Egyptian princess and my siblings and cousins in helping me to dress up. I want to thank my two girlfriends who helped out in taking photos and Polaroids. Thank you for the gifts I received from my two sisters, girlfriend and grandaunt. Not forgetting, I want to thank to everyone who came, be it my family or friends or relatives. Thank you to all. Alhamdullilah.

The gift trays from me to him. Nice right..... I took so much time in just decorating this. Black-Grey-Silver theme. I felt bad plucking the flowers out from the "stem" but I just had to. So sorry to the person who loaned this to me. Ooopppsssss..... heh. 3 from the trays are from my aunties. Lucky lucky Mr. Fiance. He gets the good stuffs.

Outside, all so serious but us, in the room are goofing around! Hahaha! Nervous seh. Baru tunang, kalau kahwin macam mane? Hahahaha!!!
